The Mount Dora Community Trust is giving away $100,000 in matching funds for donations made in New Vision’s honor during Giving Week 2024: December 2nd and 9th. With your help, we can win a matching grant of up to $40,000!

How It Works

Make a donation in honor of New Vision for Independence during Giving Week, December 2 – 9, 2024.

VERY IMPORTANT — All donations must be made to Mount Dora Community Trust (MDCT). That means:

  • Checks must be made out to MDCT AND must also be sent directly to MDCT (envelope enclosed). Please write “New Vision” on the memo line. MDCT, 821 N Donnelly St., Mount Dora, FL 32757
  • Online donations must go through MDCT.
  • Donations must be received by 3 p.m. on Dec. 9 to count for this contest.
  • Any donations made/sent directly to New Vision will not count for this contest (but we’re still grateful!).

MDCT forwards donations and matching funds to New Vision after the contest ends. Tax receipts come from MDCT.

What are the match amounts?

What are the match amounts?

Mount Dora Community Trust (MDCT) is giving away a total of $100,000 of matching funds. There will be 4 overall winners (most money raised):

  • First Place: match dollar for dollar up to $40,000
  • Second Place: match of $0.75 on the dollar up to $20,000
  • Third Place: match of $0.50 on the dollar up to $12,500
  • Fourth Place: match of $0.25 on the dollar up to $7,500

The remaining $20,000 will be given in special contests:

  • Contest #1: Day 1—$10,000 until it’s gone, 1 to 1 match. Minimum $10, maximum $500
  • Contest #2: Overall—$5,000 for the organization with the most individual donations that does not place as a winner in the overall contest.
  • Contest #3: Social, overall—$5,000 for the organization receiving the most social engagement on MDCT’s pinned Facebook post the week of the contest. You must do all 4 steps to “vote” for New Vision:
  1. Like/follow Mount Dora Community Trust
  2. Like the pinned post about Giving Week 2024
  3. Comment “New Vision for Independence”
  4. Share the post with the captions #GivingWeek2024 #NewVisionforIndependence
  • Pop-Up Contests: MDCT will have 2-3 sponsored pop-up contests during the week. Each will be sponsored by a different business. The organization who receives the most dollars on that particular day will win the $2,500. You will be notified the end of the day prior to the contest.
