New Vision’s objectives for Community Education are:
- To educate the public about vision loss and its impacts.
- To reduce pity, discomfort, fear, and stigma of blindness among sighted individuals.
- To foster greater understanding, accessibility, and inclusivity within the community.
We develop presentations, special events, and community activities aimed at raising awareness about vision loss and promoting positive attitudes. It’s important to us that all educational efforts are inclusive and accommodate diverse needs. We strive to involve the community in planning and delivering these activities to ensure relevance and impact. Above all else, we want to challenges stereotypes and promote dignity and understanding.
Special Events
New Vision has several special events throughout the year to bring awareness to both the challenges of vision loss and how those challenges can be overcome with training and support. Check out our Events Page for more info.
